I wouldn’t wish to be caught out in a midummer night in a thicket of wild plums and roses in this nightie but only because the silk might catch and snag and stain and I’d rather it glow like the pillow on my bed in the middle of the night when the moon shines in my window. I’d rather crush the plums against my lips and have the juice licked up before it trickles down the ribbon drawstring. I’d rather my nighttime bath leave me smelling of roses. Crumpled, yet silky, not tangled or in sweaty disarray, pungent in the sweet heady kinda of way, and soft like nighttime is dark.
