FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes! You can purchase a Gift Card here. Or email us and we can provide you with a pdf Gift Certificate to print off. It can be used on our site (with the discount code), or email to arrange your order. We accept e-transfers from within Canada or Paypal worldwide.

How do I care for my new clothing?

All clothing is pre-washed in cold water and machine dried before being sent to you. Unless you are washing in hot water, there should be no shrinkage once you wash it! Nothing worse then washing new clothing for the first time and it fitting completely differently. Do expect the fabrics to soften with wear and snug up again after washing, natural fabrics ya know.

LINEN & COTTON & HEMP

Machine wash gently in cold water with like colours, or hand wash.  Hang or lie flat to dry. Iron hot for best results.

SILK & RAW SILK

Hand wash in cold water and hang or lie flat to dry.

How does your sizing work?

We’re working to get size measurements up for each item but if the sizing info isn’t available or you are unsure of your size it's best to send us an email. We currently offer 2 to 3 different sizes for our garments. This keeps our pattern drafting to a minimum and therefore costs lower. While that might seem frustrating to figure out what size you are, we are so happy to make changes to fit all body types. We can easily shorten hems, lengthen sleeves, or add room around hips, waist, or bust. You can also put your measurements in the order notes and we’ll make adjustments for your body if needed.

Do you make custom pieces?

Unfortunately we are not creating custom styles at the moment. But we do offer custom sizing and you can customize your fabrics by choosing from the ‘Custom Fabric’ drop down. Check out the Ready To Ship page to shop one off pieces, browse the Fabrics page for ideas on styles and fabrics, or email us about other fabric options or sizing.

Where can I try on/do you have a studio or storefront?

Luna Collective in Victoria, and Seek Shelter in Courtenay carry a small collection of pieces. You can also mail to arrange a studio visit. Upcoming markets and events will be advertised on Instagram or by signing up to B’s Book newsletter.

I bought something and don’t like how it fits. What can I do?

Refer to the EXCHANGES + RETURNS page for more info.

WHERE and WHO makes your clothes?

We make all our clothes in Victoria BC out of a home studio located in Cadboro Bay. Brooke Macdonald designs and sews, seamstress Andrea Skleryk sews all the garments, and studio assistance by Anabel Sargent.

I placed an order, now what?

Please allow 4-8 weeks turn around time for us to create your item!  If you need it for a special event or deadline please email and I'll see what we can do.
